Title: Night
Author: Kathie
Fandom: CSI:NY
Pairing: Mac Taylor/Don Flack/Danny Messer
Rating: FRT-13
Disclaimer: Not mine.
Summary: A typical night...
Authors Notes: The very first MDD-story I ever wrote...the first threesome I ever wrote.
Mac never slept through the night. There always was a point when he woke up, disentangled himself carefully from Don and Danny and left the bed. Sometimes it was only to go to the bathroom – those were the nights when he would come back to bed, worm his way back between his two younger lovers and reclaim his place in the middle. But then there also were the nights when he was plagued by nightmares and couldn’t even stand the thought of closing his eyes. Instead he would stay up and stare for hours out of the window or at the walls of the living room. Some nights he finished the paperwork he had brought home.
Another thing with Mac was that he never slept longer than four o’clock in the morning. No matter how much sleep he actually had, and what time he went to bed, he always woke up at four o’clock sharp. He didn’t need an alarm clock. He didn’t even have one, as far as Don could tell.
Don always woke up when Mac left the bed. Maybe it happened because he, unlike Danny, craved touch like a drug and he slept best when he was literally wrapped around Mac. Danny, however, hadn’t joked when he had said he didn’t cuddle. Most nights he would remain stubbornly independent and fall asleep with only the tips of his fingers touching Don’s side over Mac’s chest.
He never seemed to notice when Mac left them, night for night, and when he noticed, he never said something. He didn’t seem to care.
But this time, when Mac had stealthily left the bedroom and had settled down in his home office and Don lifted his head so he could listen to the tiny squeaking noise of Mac’s chair, he saw that Danny’s eyes were wide open, as well, and that Danny was listening to the small sounds from Mac, like he was doing.
It was the first time the two of them cuddled up to fall asleep.
End.
