Title: Jealous?

Summary: They’re not jealous, none of them…
***
Mac pins Danny to the wall without any problems. Danny doesn’t even pretend to fight his grip; and Mac doesn’t expect him to do so. Danny loves it when Mac concentrates completely on him, at least when Mac is not angry with him, and this doesn’t happen too often – even if they can spend some time together, Mac’s attention is always divided between Danny, Don and his latest case.
He kisses Danny softly.
“I told you to be nice to Lindsay,” he murmurs against his lips.
Danny squirms suggestively. “I was nice to her,” he protests.
Mac presses his leg between Danny’s. “No, you weren’t.”
His mouth trails along Danny’s jaw. “You were flirting with her.”
“So I was flirting nicely.”
Danny’s short fingernails bite into Mac’s forearms when they kiss again. Mac doesn’t even remember releasing Danny from his grip. He worries about the scratches he will have to hide the next few days, but then Danny pulls back from the kiss and smiles lazily at him. “Are you jealous?”
Mac shakes his head. “No.”
“You are jealous.” Danny grins and presses his body closer to Mac. “Wait until I tell Don!”
“There is no evidence supporting…” Mac stops mid-sentence, because Danny has turned them around and rubs against him in a well-practiced rhythm that brings both right to the edge. But suddenly Danny stops moving and runs a hand over Mac’s chest.
“You’re jealous,” he repeats. “You, of all people... Don and I have more reason to be.”
Mac swallows at the expression in Danny’s eyes, but he doesn’t interrupt him when he continues in a low murmur: “She’s always all over you, isn’t she? Montana here, Montana there. Always touching you. She doesn’t get that you’re mine.”
Mac’s thoughts freeze, and his muscles follow – he can’t move, breathe or even think for a second. All that holds him up for this amount of time is the wall behind his back and Danny’s strong body.
“What about Don?” he manages to ask and wraps both arms around Danny. He knows, of course, that Danny can be very possessive of what he considers his, and he doesn’t know what he would do if Danny would demand of him to chose between him and Don.
Danny leans against him and runs his hands up and down Mac’s sides “He’s mine as well,” he answers, as if that is the most natural thing in the world.
For a moment Mac doesn’t know what to say.
“You don’t need to be jealous,” he finally manages. “I told you I love you.”
He doesn’t dare to address the issue of “mine”, and Danny doesn’t answer for a long while. He simply stands and soaks up Mac’s body heat.

“I love you,” Mac repeats. He punctuates every word with a kiss to Danny’s spine. His lips touch the warm and sweat-slicked skin in a soft caress that makes Danny moan and shudder, although he’s so worn out he can barely move.
Mac continues with his worshipping of Danny’s back until Danny squirms away, rolls around and takes Mac’s head between his hands. He pulls him close and kisses him long and hard.
The need to breathe forces them finally apart, and Danny chuckles softly. “Too bad that Don isn’t here,” he says. “Did he say when he’d be home?”
“His exact words were ‘As soon as possible’.” Mac blinks. “Why?”
“He’s missing all the fun.”
Mac shakes his head slightly. “Don isn’t the one who acts like a lovesick teenager every time I talk to Lindsay.”
“It’s not the talking that bothers me,” Danny answers hotly, and Mac silences him with another breathtaking kiss.
“Besides, it’s not as if I’m the only one capable of jealousy here. Didn’t Hawkes tell you about it?”
“Tell me what, exactly? And Don wasn’t the one who got jealous about a katana.”
“He agreed with me there. You love your weapons more than us. Maybe we should have sex in the kitchen more often, close to the knives, if they leave you all hot and bo…” Again Mac kisses him to shut him up.
“Tell me what, exactly?” he prompts gently when Danny stares at him with glassy eyes and doesn’t show any sign of answering the question.
“Huh?”
“Tell me what? Hawkes and Don?”
“Oh. They had a little argument, when they investigated the case with the kid dying in the fire.”
“What kind of little argument?” Mac is alarmed now, although he is sure that Sheldon Hawkes is capable of defending himself against Don’s sharp tongue.
“The ‘Me Detective, you Scientist’-kind of argument. Don’t worry. If Hawkes hasn’t said anything about it, they probably settled it.” Danny yawns and stretches his tired muscles.
“I didn’t take Don for the jealous type,” Mac muses as he pulls the blankets over their bodies and settles comfortably against Danny’s side.
He doesn’t see Danny’s face, but he can hear the smug expression in his voice when Danny answers: “He’s as jealous as we all are, Mac. He just hides it better.”
Mac snorts. “He hides it better than you, at least. Just trust me and promise to leave Lindsay alone, okay?”
Danny yawns again. “What can I say? It’s my Italian temper.”
Mac chuckles softly.
Danny doesn’t promise.
“Mac?” Danny asks softly a short while later.
“Hmm?”
“What I said earlier…that you’re mine…” Danny hesitates a moment. “You don’t mind, do you?” he asks in a rush.
“What?” Mac is already half-asleep, and he is confused now. He doesn’t know what Danny wants to tell him.
“You’re mine…” Danny repeats softly. “And Don is mine…but…” he stops before finishing the sentence.
Mac smiles. His thoughts are slow and sleepy, but he thinks he understands now what Danny wants to hear.
“I don’t mind,” he reassures him and wraps an arm around Danny’s waist. “After all, you’re mine, too.”
Danny smiles in the darkness and closes his eyes. He feels safe, and he doesn’t wake up when, hours later, Don comes home and crawls in the bed and wraps himself around them.
“You okay?” Mac murmurs. Don nods and buries his face against Mac’s chest.
“Yeah. What about you? Had a nice evening?”
Mac chuckles softly.
“Yes…we talked about yours and Danny’s jealousy.”
Don snorts. His eyes start to close on their own, but his last words before he falls asleep are, “I’m not jealous. That’s Danny.”
Mac simply grins in the darkness and pulls both of them closer.
He’s just happy that he is the only one in this relationship who isn’t jealous, despite what Danny said earlier.
The End.
